AWARD FOR ACHIEVEMENTS

On 22 December, 2011 Principal, Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad and Dean Academics, Prof. (Dr.) Onkar Singh attended the program of Business Sphere Award Function-2011 held at Hotel Ashoka, New Delhi and were also conferred mementos for the dynamic achievement of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon in the field of imparting technical education and serving the society in general.

The function was inaugurated by Mr. Harish Rawat, Hon’ble Union Minister of State Agriculture Food Processing Industries and Parliamentary Affairs, New Delhi. In his inaugural address, Hon’ble Minister appreciated the initiatives taken by Business Sphere Group and the Institutes for the growth of Indian economy. Sharing his views he expressed that the recent growth in the Indian economy has triggered an increased demand for skilled and trained human resource in the industry. World over the higher education is passing through interesting phase. It is changing radically, by becoming organically flexible in diversity of programs, in its structure, in its curricula, in its delivery systems and it is adopting itself to clever use of information and communication technologies.

In addition to him, Mr. Shri Prakash Jaiswal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Coal, Mr. Mangat Ram Singla, Former Minister of Social Welfare, Labor and Employment, Dr. A. R. Kidwai, His Excellency, the former Governor of Haryana were also graced the occasion as the guests of honor.

Welcoming the Chief-Guest and other Guests of Honor, Mr. G. R. Khattar also expressed his views on Industry-Academia relationship and its global impact on economy. He addressed that Indian Higher Education has seen an unprecedented growth in last 50 years and it is one of the biggest higher education systems in the world today. The Indian graduates, in all subjects and disciplines, have given a new image to India both internally and also at a global level. The Indian graduates are now accepted at global level as value-added-skilled human power at premier level. In the context of globalization of higher education it is necessary to evolve policy to promote flow of students from other nations to India as is happening for Indian students going to other nations. The Indian Higher Education system is now recognized as one of the better system for producing talented human work force and that too in a cost effective way. He also expressed his gratitude to the guests and other members who attended the function.
