ALUMNI MEET - 2011

Education is not only the driving force for a leader to move ahead in life but also the motivation to take an occasional pause and reflect back, connect with one’s alma mater and share the richness of his journey. Alumni-Meet is that pause for every alumnus.

DCE,Gurgaon has a tradition to stay in touch with the passed- out students. Continuing its tradition, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon held the Alumni Meet on 24 December 2011 at Hotel Taj, New Delhi. The function was inaugurated with the lighting of lamp by the Chief-Guest Dr. Satish Yadav Hon’ble Chairman, Dronacharya Group of Institutions. The Ceremony was started by welcoming the Guests who came from abroad, Guests of Honour and the Alumni with rose flowers. It was followed by a Welcome Speech by Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad, Principal DCE Gurgaon. Addressing the alumni, Hon’ble Chairman delivered that Alumini-Meet is an opportunity given to every alumnus to share experiences about his alma mater and its impact on their career.

It was indeed heartening to see so many alumni, especially from the initial batches, come and drive the discussion in the Alumni Discussion Forum. The Event was glittered with speeches by the Alumni who shared their experiences. They were all very nostalgic about the four years that they spent in the college. Some of them reminisced about their stay in the student hostel with its unique architecture. Many valuable suggestions on the future direction for projects, research and teaching approaches were shared. All the participants opined that the alumni could play an active role in the growth and development of the college, and also pledged their active support for the same. It was a wonderful occasion to meet and share the experiences with the alumni who graduated from the College over the past 13 years.

They were all unanimous in echoing their feelings that college has played a very vital role in shaping their destiny. This nostalgic visit back to campus made the alumni feel at home and brought excitement into the interaction.

The Alumni movement of Dronacharyans lives through its students, spreading across India and overseas.

The Meet ended with elaborate, sumptuous and delicious dinner.

All-in-all, the evening resulted in sharing of reminiscent times, new networks built, rich experience shared and a lot of appreciation conveyed by the alumni to DRONACHARYANS. The all-pervasive feeling of the occasion is extracted in this one quote - "Education is what survives, after you’ve forgotten what you memorised".
